Snagger
Snaggers are unique enemies that will prioritize floating towards any pickups in the room, using them against Isaac. As soon as a pickup is taken by a Snagger it can no longer can be retrieved back, even if the Snagger is killed prior to using it. If no pickups are left, they will slowly float towards Isaac, attempting to deal contact damage.
They will also move away from any primed
Bombs.
Attacks
Hearts
Snaggers will receive a health boost when picking up any heart, shown by gaining a red tint. The amount of health gained changes depending on the type of heart:
- Each
Red Heart,
Soul Heart or
Gold Heart grants 7 additional health. - Each
Eternal Heart grants 21 additional health.
- Eternal Hearts converted into
Full Eternal Hearts and
Double Full Eternal Hearts with
Red Ribbon will still only give 21 health.
- Eternal Hearts converted into
- Each
Black Heart,
Bone Heart,
Rotten Heart and
Immoral Heart grants 10.5 additional health.
Morbid Hearts are completely ignored by Snaggers.
Coins
Snaggers will eat multiple
Pennies if they are close together before spitting them out at Isaac, with each coin adding to the shot's spread. The maximum shot number at one time is 5, the leftover coins being fired shortly afterwards.
Double Pennies,
Nickels and
Dimes will be worth 2, 5 and 10 Pennies respectively.
Golden Pennies will reappear in another location if Snaggers pick them up, as expected.- Snaggers will ignore
Sticky Nickels unless there are any
Bomb pickups in the room, in which case they will throw Bombs toward the Sticky Nickel in order to free it. - Snaggers have exceptionally poor luck and will explode if eating
Cursed Pennies.
- The same applies to
Golden Cursed Pennies, but the Penny will reappear at another location in the room afterwards.
- The same applies to
Honey Pennies are equivalent to 1 Penny, but will also cause the Snagger to leave a trail of slowing honey creep for several seconds.
Haunted Pennies are equivalent to 1 Penny, but will also spawn a blue-colored
Willo.
Lego Studs and
Tokens are completely ignored by Snaggers.
Keys
Snaggers will throw
Keys at Isaac, which fracture outwards into a V shape upon hitting anything. If there are
Locked Chests or
Eternal Chests in the room, they will throw the key at them instead, and the projectile will open them and release their contents.
Golden Keys will have them throw keys 4 times in quick succession.
Key Rings will let them throw 2 keys at once, in a v shape.
Charged Keys will give the thrown key projectile drastically increased shot speed.
Spicy Keys and all its variants act as expected, causing the Snagger to throw additional keys at once based on the Spicy Key's value, but they will deal 5 damage to the Snagger if he picks them up.
Bombs
Snaggers will pick up and lob
Bombs towards Isaac, which will ignite after hitting the ground. If objects that are destructible with explosions exist in the room such as
Bomb Chests,
Sticky Nickels,
Slot Machines or
Beggars, they will throw the Bomb at them instead.
Double Bombs will have them throw 2 Bombs at once in a v shape.
Golden Bombs will let them throw 4 Bombs in quick succession.
Throwable Bombs will work as expected, meaning
Bomb Grimaces can provide an infinite supply of Bombs for Snaggers to use.
Giga Bombs are way too heavy for Snaggers and will crush them, killing them instantly. The Giga Bomb will then ignite itself.
Copper Bombs are thrown and then have a 50% chance to either explode with a larger radius than a regular Bomb, or become a dud bomb.
Double Copper Bombs will have the Snagger throw 2 Copper Bombs at once in a v shape.
Double Mixed Bombs will have the Snagger throw one normal and one Copper Bomb, both at once in a v shape. The Copper Bomb will explode much earlier than the regular one, if it explodes at all.
Batteries
Batteries picked up by Snaggers will give them a boost in speed, with the duration of the boost being based on the type:
Micro Batteries will give Snaggers a drastic speed boost for 1 second.
Lil' Batteries will give Snaggers a drastic speed boost for 4 seconds.
Mega Batteries and
Golden Batteries will give Snaggers a drastic speed boost for 9 seconds.
- Notably, Golden Batteries do not hurt Snaggers when they pick them up, and they will not reappear in another location on the floor.
Virtuous Batteries will spawn a blue-colored
Willo, but will not grant the Snagger any kind of speed boost (bug?).
Firework Batteries and
Cursed Batteries will give Snaggers a drastic speed boost for a random amount of time between 1 to 5 seconds.
Potato Batteries will give Snaggers a drastic speed boost for only half of a second. For this pickup to have any visible effect, the Snagger needs to pickup more than one Potato Battery at once.
Storage Batteries are completely ignored by Snaggers.
Miscellaneous
- As a self-proclaimed winner, Snagger will not touch any pills, cards, runes or objects.
- Snaggers can steal any consumables that are being sold from any type of shop and use them.
- Snaggers are capable of opening
Chests and Sacks, and will even use
Bombs for
Bomb Chests or
Keys for
Locked Chests or
Eternal Chests.
- Snaggers will take 5 damage when opening
Spiked Chests, but can open inactive
Mimic Chests without taking damage.
Grab Bags,
Black Sacks and
Blood Sacks will spill their contents as usual.
Trash Bags will spawn a couple of
Attack Flies and
Spiders.
52 Decks are completely ignored by Snaggers, as there's nothing worth their attention inside anyway.- Snaggers will open
Shop Chests with Keys, and then take what they can from the store's stock.
- Snaggers will take 5 damage when opening
- When playing as
Tainted ???, Snaggers are able to steal his Poop Nuggets:
Poop Nuggets will cause the Snagger to create a fart that knocks the player away.
Big Poop Nuggets will cause the Snagger to create a larger fart and spawn a
Poop underneath itself.
- If a
Small Contraband is left on the ground, a Snagger will appear from off-screen and attempt to steal it. - If
Contraband is left on an item pedestal, a Snagger will appear and steal it when Isaac re-enters the room.
