Kings are enemies that appear similar to and behave like MemBrains, slowly sliding around the room while leaving a trail of red creep. They will spawn with, and are tethered to a number of invulnerable Pawns. If they have 2 or less Pawns, they will occasionally hop in place and fire out a ring of 8 projectiles that deal a whole heart of damage.

- The number of Pawns a King spawns with is determined by the room layout.
Pawn
Pawns are small invulnerable enemies that spawn tethered to Kings, which limits their movement. They wander around in cardinal directions, occasionally charging towards Isaac when lined up, only stopping once hitting a wall or obstacle. While invulnerable themselves, their tethers have 10 Hp and can be destroyed, killing them as a result. All Pawns of a King will die if their King dies.

- The King and Pawns are based on the Chess pieces with the same name.
