Beacon
Beacons are tainted variants of Bulbs found during the
Ascent. They fly erratically around the room, making quick dashes while hovering around. Occasionally they will make a buzzing noise while pulling back, before quickly dashing towards Isaac. They will only stop their dash if they come into contact with Isaac or until they hit a wall, after which they will be stunned for a short moment. If they make contact with Isaac when they aren't stunned, they will not deal contact damage and instead stick to him while draining up to 3 of his active item's charge before detaching and being stunned.
If Isaac's active item's charge bar has less than 3 charges when this happens, then negative red charges will be added instead. Once the active item's charge bar is full of negative charges, Beacons will not dash towards nor stick to Isaac anymore, instead flying around randomly. Negative charges can be removed by all standard methods of charging an active item.
If Isaac has no active item, Beacons will appear dimmed and will fly about randomly.
Notes
- If Isaac carries multiple active items, then Beacons will drain from the main active item first, then the second active item stored by
Schoolbag, then the active item in the pocket slot.
Bethany's soul charges and
Tainted Bethany's blood charges will not be drained by Beacons. The extra charges can still be spent to use active items with negative charges.
