Contestants are enemies that spawn in packs, with some spawning with a screw jammed through their skull. Contestants with a screw will actively stay away from Isaac while Contestants without a screw will wander around near it. Periodically, a Contestant with a screw will launch it towards another Contestant who, upon receiving it, releases a cluster of red projectiles in the opposite direction. Contestants can target through obstacles, and launch the screw over them.
Contestants who have had the screw but ejected it will actively chase after Isaac, and can still receive it again.
Notes
- If there are no Contestants with a screw in the room, all the remaining Contestants will chase after Isaac.
- On the other hand, if there are no Contestants without a screw in the room, Contestants with screws will instead launch it towards Isaac next, which will destroy the screw.
Trivia
- Contestants had an unused behavior where they would pick up a screw from the ground and impale themselves.
- Contestants were added in The Spookaween Update.
