Rufus are large stationary enemies that can be found in the Mines that behave like Red Horfs, growing more agitated when Isaac is in proximity. Unlike their counterpart, Rufus will agitate quicker if Isaac is nearby and will also agitate if they take damage. They will not calm down if left alone, remaining permanently at any state until further provoked. On the third stage of agitation or on death, Rufus will self-destruct with a large explosion that scatters a few arcing rock projectiles nearby. Afterwards, 3 expanding circles of rock projectiles will fall from the ceiling with staggered timing.
Notes
- Rufus' agitation from taking damage will progress a stage whenever it reaches 2/3 and 1/3 Hp.
- If Rufus progresses a stage from being close to Isaac, it will reduce the amount of damage required for it to explode — exploding immediately after taking any further damage when in the third stage regardless of how much damage it previously took.
