Meatwad
Meatwads are enemies that hug the side of a wall or obstacles and travel along their surfaces slowly in order to line up with Isaac. When he is in line of sight, they will launch themselves directly forwards and land on a parallel-facing surface, resuming their normal movement pattern. Meatwads can slide off of the edges of surfaces and will "fall" back onto another one.
Meatwads can travel over pits, but will still be damaged by grounded sources like creep and spikes. Meatwads are not capable of changing their orientation.
If a Meatwad comes into any source of fire, they turn into a Grilled Meatwad.
Variants
Grilled Meatwad
Grilled Meatwads are burning Meatwads that can be found in Mines, or when a normal Meatwad touches fire. They will periodically leave tiny extinguishable fires when travelling from surface to surface.
Slag
Slags are variants of the Meatwad found in Dank Depths. They behave the same as normal Meatwads, but upon traveling from surface to surface, they will release a half-ring of 5 tar projectiles outwards with each impact.
Notes
- At the start of every room, Slags will always spawn in the air and immediately land on a surface. They will not shoot tar projectiles upon this initial impact.
Pox
Pox is a mangled variant of the Meatwad found in Scarred Womb. They behave like regular Meatwads, but leave a loose trail of floating projectiles and red creep when traveling from surface to surface. These projectiles will float in place until it jumps again.
Outlier
Outliers are psionic variants of Meatwads found within Sheol. They slide slightly faster than regular Meatwads, but if Isaac evades their line of sight for long enough, they will teleport into a random surface aligned with him before jumping.
Haunch
Haunches are variants of Meatwads found exclusively in Crawl Spaces. Unlike the other variants, they remain stationary on the surface they're attached to and will only move when to jump at Isaac.
Notes
- Currently, Haunches are only ever encountered attached to horizontal surfaces and not vertical ones.
Trivia
- Slag's design originates from The End is Nigh, a game made by Edmund McMillen.
- Meatwad's name may be a reference to the character of the same name from the [adult swim] series Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
- Outlier's design is inspired by sea slugs.
- Poxes have a unique appearance when encountered on the Mortis floor if the Last Judgement MOD is installed.
