Randy the Snail is a passive item added in the initial release of Fiend Folio.
Effects
- Spawns a snail familiar that slowly crawls across the room.
- If Isaac runs into Randy, or if Isaac's tears or enemy projectiles collide with Randy, it will cause it to hide in its shell and begin to bounce around the room, ricocheting off walls, obstacles and enemies. Enemies hit by Randy while they are bouncing will take damage and cause Randy's bouncing to speed up.
- If Randy doesn't collide with an enemy, Isaac or any projectiles after bouncing, Randy will eventually slow down to a stop and come out of its shell, resuming its default behavior.
Notes
- Randy cannot bounce over pits.
- Randy's contact damage while bouncing scales with Isaac's damage stat, and inversely with his tear delay (the lower Isaac's tear rate is, the higher the bouncing damage).
- The velocity at which Randy bounces around is fixed, and is not affected by the speed of the projectile or enemy that hit them, nor is it affected by Isaac's shot speed or movement speed.
- If Isaac has multiple copies of Randy, they can bounce off each other, leading to constant chain reactions.
Interactions
BFFS!: Randy's hitbox will be enlarged, and his contact damage will be doubled.
Box of Friends: Randy will be copied as expected, which allows them to bounce off each other.
Sacrificial Altar: Randy can be sacrificed.
Wormhole Rock: Randy's appearance will change to that of a pink worm with a cupcake for a shell. This is purely visual and does not affect how Randy performs.

- Randy the Snail could be a reference to a popular meme with Randy Orton.
- Randy the Snail is a reference to a spriting tutorial video made by LeatherIceCream, one of the developers for The Binding of Isaac: Repentance. In the video he sprites a snail that is very similar to Randy.
