Grabber is a passive item added in The Reheated Update.

Effects

• Spawns Grabber from the hit video game Grabber as a familiar that mirrors Isaac's position across the room, similar to Abel, and periodically reaches out with a hand that moves a short distance and is aimed towards the direction Isaac was in.
  • Grabber's hand can grab enemies and Troll Bombs, dragging them towards itself. While grabbed, enemies take 1 damage roughly every 1/5 of a second for a total of 5-6 damage.
  • Grabber's hand cannot grab pickups or enemies that are invincible.

Notes

• Grabber can be charmed by The Siren. Once charmed, Grabber will instead mirror Siren's position in the room, and will grab Isaac when his hand reaches him. However, Grabber will not deal damage on contact with Isaac.
• Grabber's hand will pet Isaac if it reaches him.

Interactions

• BFFS!: No effect on Grabber and the damage Grabber deals.
• Box of Friends: Copies of Grabbers will stack on top of each other.
• Sacrificial Altar: Grabber can not be sacrificed.
• Baby-Bender: Grabber will attempt to home in onto enemies in front of it while reaching out.

Trivia

• Grabber is a reference to the Game Jam game Grabber, made by HappyHead and jm2k (Julia), who are both developers of Fiend Folio.
  • When Grabber (the item) is picked up, a short snippet of the "clapsong" theme from the game Grabber can be heard.
  • An .exe file of the game Grabber can be found within the Fiend Folio MOD's files, in the folder containing Grabber's sprites.
