Eternal D12 is an active item added in The Reheated Update.

Effects

• On use, either has a chance to reroll all obstacles in the room into other obstacles (similarly to the D12), or to have all obstacles in the room disappear.
• Each use will cycle the item's charge capacity between requiring 2 charges filled and 1 charge filled in order to be used. The chance to reroll or remove obstacles depends on how many charges Eternal D12 requires:
  • With a charge capacity of 2, it has a 1/3 chance to remove all obstacles.
  • With a charge capacity of 1, it has a 2/3 chance to remove all obstacles.

Notes

• Similarly with the D12, Eternal D12 will reroll Rocks, Metal Blocks, Poops, Spikes, TNT and Cobwebs in the room into other Rocks, Metal Blocks, Poops, Spikes, TNT, and Cobwebs.
  • Rocks and Poops that are rerolled into can also become random variants, such as Fool's Gold Rocks or Rainbow Poops. Obstacles rerolled can also rarely become Reward Plates or even trapdoors that lead to the next floor or into a Crawl Space.
• Eternal D12 cannot make Pillars disappear, but it can reroll them.
• The Eternal D12 in its 1-charge state and its 2-charge state are, in actuality, 2 separate items listed in the code, all with the same name and description. Only the 2-charge variant can be found in the Item pools and encountered normally.

Interactions

• Void: Once absorbed, the Eternal D12 will the same chance to reroll/remove obstacles based on its state, and will not cycle to its other form when Void is used — Absorbing Eternal D12 in its 2-charge form will always have the 2/3 chance to reroll obstacles and 1/3 chance to remove them, and vice-versa.
• Spindown Dice: Using Spindown Dice on Eternal D12 will reroll it into The Devil's Harvest.
  • Only the 2-charge Eternal D12 can be spun down into, and the 1-charge Eternal D12 cannot be found with Spindown Dice.

Trivia

• Eternal D12's achievement popup depicts Fiend Folio developer SBody, which is in reference to the achievement popup for Eternal D6 depicting Florian Himsl, developer of the original flash version of The Binding of Isaac.
