Infinity Volt is a passive item added in The Reheated Update.

Effects

  • Double-tapping the fire key will cause a cord to shoot from the player and attach itself to the first enemy it touches.
  • Linked enemies will become charmed and rapidly shoot out short-ranged arcs of electricity, dealing 10% of Isaac's damage to the attached enemy and 100% of Isaac's damage when zapping other nearby enemies. After 4 seconds of the cord being attached, the linked enemy will generate electricity more rapidly and become burned. After 6 seconds, an explosion will occur which deals 30 damage and detaches the cord. If the enemy survives, they will no longer be charmed.
    • The player can still fire tears while the cord is attached, but their movement will be restricted as they are tethered to the linked enemy by a certain length, until the cord is removed.
    • Double-tapping the fire keys again while linked to an enemy will remove the cord, and cause the enemy to no longer be charmed.

Notes

  • If an enemy linked to the cord moves in ways such as burrowing, teleporting, or jumping off-screen, the cord will automatically disconnect.
  • The cord cannot attach to invincible enemies.
  • The cord will always fire from the player's left eye.
  • The cord cannot normally travel over obstacles, but can do so if the player has flight or spectral tears.

Interactions

  • DarkJudasCoopIcon.png Dark Judas: The cord will gain a dark red appearance, but otherwise function the same.
  • LilithCoopIcon.png Lilith: The cord will fire from Lilith herself and not the Incubus.png Incubus familiar.
  • BastardCoopIcon.png The Bastard: Each minion will shoot their own cord, however, an enemy can only have one cord attached to them at a time.
  • Spindown Dice.png Spindown Dice: Using Spindown Dice on Infinity Volt will reroll it into Bzzt! Bzzt!.

Trivia

  • Infinity Volt is based on infamous male-to-male extension cords (cords with prongs on both ends), also known as "suicide" extension cords due to the fact they're well known for being incredibly dangerous, with many cases of injury or death by electrocution or from electrical fires when used.
