Bee Skin is a passive item added in the initial release of Fiend Folio.

Effects

• For each tear Isaac shoots, 3 additional weaker tears will be shot around him at equal angles, that each deal 30% of Isaac's damage and retain Isaac's tear effects.
  • Every time the effect triggers, the angle of the shots increments clockwise around Isaac.

Notes

• Getting multiple copies of Bee Skin will increase the number of tears in the circle by 1 for each copy collected.
  • This is capped at 8 tears in the ring when having 6 copies of Bee Skin, and getting more copies will grant no further benefits.

Interactions

• Mom's Knife: Throwing the knife will trigger Bee Skin, causing Isaac to throw 3 additional tiny knives at equal angles rather than tears.
• Technology: Tears shot by Bee Skin will become lasers.
• Brimstone: Bee Skin will rapidly create tears in a ring around Isaac while he releases his Brimstone laser beam. These tears will be smaller than normal.
• Dr. Fetus: Each bomb shot by Isaac will only have a 1/7 chance to trigger Bee Skin. When triggered, Bee Skin will launch bombs instead of tears.
• Epic Fetus: Missiles will not trigger Bee Skin.
• 20/20 / The Wiz / The Inner Eye / Mutant Spider / Monstro's Lung: Amount of tears shot from each angle will be increased respective to the amount of multi-shot.
  • This will not trigger with Mom's Knife.
• Technology Zero: Bee Skin tears will connect each other with electricity, creating laser rings around Isaac.
• The Ludovico Technique: Will not trigger Bee Skin while controlling the tear.
  • The Ludovico Technique / Brimstone: The Brimstone ring will cause Isaac to constantly trigger Bee Skin without stopping.
• Tractor Beam: All tears shot by Bee Skin will snap and travel along the beam.
• Mom's Eye / Loki's Horns: Additional tears shot by these items will not cause Bee Skin to shoot additional tears.
• Tech X: Laser rings shot by Isaac will not trigger Bee Skin.
  • Tech X + Brimstone / Technology: The Brimstone rings shot by Isaac will constantly trigger Bee Skin for as long as they remain on screen.
• Incubus / Twisted Pair: Tears fired from these familiars will trigger Bee Skin.
• Maw of the Void: A large, long-lasting spiral of bone tears is fired once Maw of the Void's ring is released.
• Lead Pencil: Cluster of tears from Lead Pencil will be considered as a single tear and no additional Bee Skin tears will be fired.
• Angelic Prism: Bee Skin tears that pass through the prism will be multiplied.
• Haemolacria: Tears shot by Bee Skin will become Haemolacria shots, bursting into a cluster of smaller tears upon landing.
• Trisagion: Tears shot by Bee Skin will become Trisagion shots.
• Spirit Sword: Swinging the sword and charging the spin attack will not trigger Bee Skin.
• C Section: Tears shot by Bee Skin will home in and constantly deal damage over time to enemies, like regular fetus tears.
• Abyss: Absorbing Bee Skin spawns a unique bee Abyss Locust that will rapidly create tiny tears around itself as it flies forwards, until it hits a wall. It will create 1 tear every 1/5 of a second that deals 10% Isaac's damage, with the angle incrementing clockwise around the Locust with each shot.
• The Forgotten / Tainted Forgotten : Swinging the bone club will not trigger Bee Skin.

Trivia

• Bee Skin is based directly off of Beeter, down to their unique projectile attack.
• Bee Skin's item sprite is a reference to the main character known as Hive King from the game Hivemind. The game was made by Team Bugulon, of which several Fiend Folio developers are part of.
• Despite Isaac appearing to have insect wings while he has Bee Skin, it does not grant him the ability to fly over obstacles. The reason for this is because according to all known laws of aviation, there is no way Isaac should be able to fly. His wings are too small to get his fat little body off the ground.
