Spelling Bee is a passive item added in The Spitshine Update, only found if the Tainted Treasure Rooms MOD is installed. It is the Tainted version of Community Achievement.

Effects

• Grants Isaac a buff to all applicable stats and adds Coins, Keys and Bombs depending on each of the characters used in the run's current seed, on the basis of each character matching any of the letters used to spell it's respective stat(s) and/or pickup(s).
  • An example being if the letter D is in the seed, it will result in a +1 to damage, as the word "damage" is spelled with the letter D.
  • Any letters in the seed that are not used to spell any stats or pickups will not affect them — these include the letters F, J, Q, V, W, X, and Z.
  • Each number in the seed will cause a small reduction to all stats.

Notes

• The letters I, O, and U can not be used in seeds — they will be replaced with the characters 1, 0, and V, respectively.

Trivia

• Spelling Bee is the first (and, as of V2.8.4, the only) tainted item in the Fiend Folio MOD.
• Spelling Bee was a fan suggestion from a member of the Fiend Folio Cornmunity Discord server, Gumfondle.
