Sharp Penny is a trinket added in The Reheated Update.

Effects

• Every time Isaac picks up a coin, has a chance to hurt Isaac without taking away any health, similar to the effect of Dull Razor.
  • The fake damage caused by Sharp Penny will grant i-frames and activate "on hit" effects.

Notes

• The chance for Sharp Penny to activate is based on the value of the coin picked up. The formula for this calculation is: (1 − (7.5 ÷ 9)^coin value) × 100
  • In effect, the chance of Sharp Penny activating is 16.67% chance for Pennies, 59.81% for Nickels, and 83.85% chance for Dimes.
  • The chance is not influenced by Isaac's luck.

• Swallowed Penny / Piggy Bank: Can drop Pennies, which can activate Sharp Penny and thus drop even more Pennies, potentially resulting in a temporary feedback loop of extra money generation.
• Trinket Multipliers: No effect on the chance, or the amount of times the effect is activated.
• Azurite Spindown: Using Azurite Spindown on Sharp Penny rerolls it into Lost Flower Crown.

Trivia

• Sharp Penny was a joke suggestion from a member of the Fiend Folio Cornmunity Discord server, Sipher Nil.
  • The first iteration of Sharp Penny had a chance to deal a full Heart of damage when picking up a coin, before it was changed to its current form and added officially to Fiend Folio: Reheated.
