Nitro Crystal

Nitro Crystal is a rock trinket added in The Reheated Update.

Effects

• Picking up coins fuels Golem's "Nitro", granting a temporary flat boost to speed and fire rate which decays over time.
  • The boost gained scales with the value of the coin — Double Pennies gives 2× more boost than regular Pennies, Nickels by 5×, and Dimes by 10×.

Notes

• The boost to speed and fire rate are both equal to log10(Nitro Boost × Trinket Multiplier) ÷ 5, with the Nitro Boost increasing by 50 × Coin Value whenever a coin is picked up and constantly decays at a rate of 1 every 1/3 of a second.
  • In practice, this means picking up a single Penny will increase speed and fire rate by 0.34, and will decay to 0 after approximately 11 seconds.

• Trinket Multipliers: The amount of boost gained from picking up coins scales with the Trinket Multiplier.
• Azurite Spindown: Using Azurite Spindown on Nitro Crystal rerolls it into Smaller Rock.

• Nitro Crystal is a fan suggestion from a member of the Fiend Folio Cornmunity Discord server, Sipher Nil.
• Holding Nitro Crystal doubles the chance for: Boom Flies becoming Golden Boom Flies, Mightflies becoming Golden Mightflies, and Spits becoming Shine Spits.
  • This is a reference to the Fiend Folio Cornmunity Discord server's special role given to users who Nitro Boosted the server, which includes a Golden Boom Fly icon next to their name.
