Atlas' Burden is a rock trinket added in The Spitshine Update.
Effects
- -0.15 speed.
- Damaging an enemy has a 25% chance to drop a boulder on its head. While an enemy has a boulder on its head, its movement speed is reduced by 20%, and has a 1% chance every frame (or 30% chance every second) for the boulder to crush it, killing it instantly. When an enemy carrying a boulder is killed, the boulder is destroyed and launches a ring of 8 rock tears that deal 2× Golem's damage.
Notes
- While there is a boulder in the room, the chance for another to spawn is drastically reduced.
- There can only be one boulder in the room, and if another spawns, the first one disappears.
- The boulder can come in one of 3 different sizes, based on the size of the enemy. This appearance is only cosmetic.
- There is a 1/7 chance the boulder will have a unique appearance.
Interactions
- Trinket Multipliers: Multiplies the chance for a boulder to drop.
- Azurite Spindown: Using Azurite Spindown on Atlas' Burden rerolls it into Lost Artifact.
Trivia
- Atlas' Burden was designed by one of the winners of the Stronger Than Golem challenge, Gabe\\\.
- The boulders spawned by Atlas' Burden have a rare chance of having an altered appearance, all in direct reference to popular culture. These are:
- A boulder identical to the stand "Rolling Stones" from the anime series "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure."
- A boulder similar to that of the player character in the game "Rock of Ages: 2", a game that collaborated with The Binding of Isaac.
- A boulder that resembles the Sessho-seki, also known as the japanese killing stone.
