Lily Pad
Found in

Lily Pads are a new type of obstacle found almost exclusively in the Flooded Caves. Lily Pads appear floating over pits, and can be walked over by Isaac and other ground-based enemies, like bridges. However, if Isaac stands on a Lily Pad, it will begin to shake under his weight, and stepping off of it will cause the Lily Pad to sink into the pit and prevent him or anything else from crossing it. After 3 seconds, a sunken Lily Pad will rise back to the surface, and can be walked on once more. Enemies that step on Lily Pads will not cause them to sink.

Notes

• Lily Pads can appear in The Chest and the Dark Room and have unique appearances. These are entirely cosmetic and have no difference in function:
  • Lily Pads in The Chest have the appearance of trap doors that are disguised with the floor, and open when stepped off of.
  • Lily Pads in the Dark Room have the appearance of floating rock bridges that break away when stepped off of.
• If an enemy happens to walk on top of a Lily Pad that the player just stepped off of, the enemy will prevent the Lily Pad from collapsing until it steps off as well.
